To support a sustainable energy transition, we are developing an innovative long-duration storage system that is highly scalable and environmentally safe. Additionally, we rely on regional supply chains to strengthen Europe’s independence from other countries and continents.

Our thermal-gravitational storage system, the idyl.tower, enables both short-term and seasonal energy storage – without any emissions during operation. Thanks to triple-sector coupling, we can simultaneously supply consumers with electricity, heat, and cooling. The technology is
highly scalable, as it is a modular solution produced in Europe and deployable anywhere in the
world. To ensure long-term sustainability and a more independent Europe, we use regional
supply chains. This is why we rely on sand and water as storage media – these resources are
cost-effective, very thermally efficient, and do not interfere with sensitive ecosystems. They are
abundantly available through regional supply chains and can be returned to nature at any time
without producing any waste.

Our idyl.tower delivers around 1 MW of power and approximately 25 MWh of storage capacity.
The technology is so safe that it can be installed anywhere. In this way, we aim to bring together
communities, nature, and advanced technologies within urban areas. If more energy is needed,
the idyl.tower can be expanded into an idyl.cluster (a system of multiple interconnected
storage units) thanks to its modular design.
