News Details Report on the wind and heat model region in North Frisia

by Astrid Dose

When wind turbines produce particularly large amounts of electricity, cross-regional transmission grids are not always able to accept the energy. The result is curtailment.

The wind and heat model region in the municipality of Friedrich-Wilhelm-Lübke-Koog will demonstrate how hybrid heating systems can intelligently make a meaningful contribution, and at comparatively low cost. Clear information on the innovative project is now available in an eleven-minute video report, which is available now at www.wind-und-waerme.de/Media. The model region was launched by four project partners: ARGE Netz from Husum, Bürger-Windpark Lübke-Koog Infrastruktur, the municipality of Friedrich-Wilhelm-Lübke-Koog, and the Hamburg Institute for Heating and Oil Technology (IWO).
