The Interreg Northern Connections project brings together 22 clusters, cities, regions and institutions with the aim of creating cross-border innovation potential in the field of energy. Following successful Living Lab events in Esbjerg (Denmark), Oslo (Norway) and Gothenburg (Sweden), the event series how stopped in Hamburg.

At the event, international and national companies got to know the Living Labs “Billebogen” from Hamburg and “Flensburg Fjord Region” from Schleswig-Holstein, for whose implementation innovative concepts for coupled cooling, heat and power supply as well as sustainable mobility are being sought.

  • „Billebogen“ from Hamburg
  • „Flensburg Fjord Region“ from Schleswig-Holstein

“Billebogen” is a HafenCity Hamburg GmbH's neighbourhood development project that seeks solutions for integrated energy supply and smart mobility in a mixed area of offices and business. Information about the Living Lab “Billebogen” can be found here.

The “Flensburg Fjord Region” is a model region with ambitious climate protection goals for which the City of Flensburg, the municipal utility Flensburg and the Eggebek Office are looking for sustainable concepts to improve (district) heat supply, sector coupling and mobility in rural areas. Information about the Living Lab “Flensburg Fjord Region” can be found here.

During the event on 13 June 2019, innovative companies had the opportunity to meet those responsible for both projects. Companies with suitable topics presented their innovative products and concepts on stage or in individual discussions during short (English) pitches and convince potential customers of the project ideas.
