Renewable energies – a German-Indian comparison Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster participates in the 3rd Hamburg India Week with a workshop

Smart Cities and renewable energies from a German and Indian perspective were on the programme at the “Smart Cities and Renewable Energy Convention” from 11 to 13 September 2013. On 12 September, as part of the 3rd Hamburg India Week, the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster organised a diverse event with German and Indian speakers on “Renewable Energy and Smart Cities”. The new Indian Consul General in Hamburg, Dr. Vidhu Nair, welcomed visitors to the event.

The title of the podium discussion was “Green Energy Corridors in India – the Future Role of Smart Cities and Renewables”. The future of funding and technologies for the Indian market was discussed with participation by experts from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, Reliance Industries Ltd., the State Bank of India, the KfW promotional bank for German industry and Suzlon Energy GmbH.

Representatives from First Solar Holdings GmbH, Suntrace GmbH and guests from India such as Statcon Power Controls Ltd. discussed Indian Smart Cities and renewable energies projects. Osborne Clarke solicitors, who are members of the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster, provided the rooms for the event.
