Northern Germany – home of wind energy EWEA 2013 in Vienna

Where is the home of the wind industry? One of the cradles, alongside Denmark, is Northern Germany. At the EWEA annual event at the beginning of February 2013 in Vienna, the cluster Renewable Energy Hamburg, windcomm e.V. and Business Development and Technology Transfer Corporation of Schleswig-Holstein first made a joint booth. Companies also made an appearance as sub-exhibitors: ESN EnergieSysteme Nord GmbH, Kisters AG, KiWi GmbH and Rendsburg Port. Overall, the two networks represent around 320 member companies.

“We intend to appear jointly at international trade fairs more frequently in the future. Many companies such as Repower SE have production sites in Schleswig-Holstein and their administrative base in Hamburg. This makes it clear that we must work more closely together as networks in order to increase the international presence of our Northern German sector,” said Jan Rispens, managing director of Renewable Energy Hamburg. In total, around 8,000 participants visited the stands of 400 exhibitors.

The next EWEA will be held from 10 to 13 March 2014 in Barcelona.
