International Hamburg conference on innovative cleantech solutions Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster participates in the visit to Latin America by the First Mayor

Cluster initiatives are a successful way of promoting economic growth, not only in Hamburg, but worldwide. At the International Cleantech Convention from 28 to 30 May 2013 in Hamburg, representatives from 13 international clusters from the International Cleantech Network (ICN) will discuss goals and working methods. The Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster is responsible for the organisation.

“The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg welcomes the fact that the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster is organising the fifth ICN meeting for 13 international clusters. The cluster approach is one of the core pillars of our economic policy in Hamburg. The Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster in particular has become a driving force over the last two years,” said Frank Horch, Hamburg's Senator for Economics, Transport and Innovation.

”As one of the highlight events of 2013, the International Cleantech Network (ICN) will convene 13 of the world´s leading Cleantech clusters from Europe, USA and Asia in Hamburg from 28-30 May. Renewable Energy Hamburg has done a fantastic job of organising the International Cleantech Convention where stakeholders from leading green regions will come to Hamburg to learn about renewable energy and smart city solutions, meet local companies and stakeholders and forge new cross-regional partnerships,” said Stephan Skare Nielsen, Head of International Cleantech Network.

The workshops will focus on storage, forms of mobility based on renewable energies, renewable energies in building construction and smart grids. Participants will also tour the IBA premises, and visit a senate reception in the Hamburg city hall, as well as the “Renewable energies meeting point, Hamburg”.

The clusters participating in the International Cleantech Convention 2013 in Hamburg include:
ACLIMA (Basque country), Colorado Clean Energy Cluster (CCEC) (USA), Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster (CCC) (Denmark), Eco World Styria (Austria), Ecotech Quebec (Canada), Renewable Energy Hamburg, Incheon Technopark (South Korea), International Technology Match-making Centreof Yixing(China), Lombardy Energy Cluster (Italy), Oslo Renewable Energy and Environment Cluster (OREEC) (Norway), Singapore Sustainability Alliance (SSA) (Singapore), Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster (RTCC), North Carolina (USA) and Tenerrdis (France).
