Hamburg Offshore Wind Conference 2018 (EEHH GmbH)

DNV GL and the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster are jointly hosting the 16th Hamburg Offshore Wind Conference in Hamburg on 2 and 3 April 2019. The conference is being held under the motto “From 'if' to 'HOW' – Ready to Realise an Ambitious Renewables Road Map”. The primary target group are decision makers from the German and international offshore wind industry. Dr Peter Tschentscher, First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, will open the conference.

First Offshore Innovation Award 2019

Companies can present innovative business ideas at the “Innovation Hub Offshore Wind”, which will be held for the first time at the HOW conference in 2019. The organisers will select the five best applicants in advance. The audience will choose the winner of the Offshore Innovation Award 2019 live at the event, who will be given the prize money of 2,000 euros as well as recognition from the audience. The deadline for applications is 15 March, 2019.

The current political situation for offshore wind is reflected by experts such as Dr Simone Peter, German Association for Renewable Energies, in the opening panel discussion “Offshore wind in Germany – from pioneer to laggard” on 2 April, 2019. Irina Lucke, EWE, and Holger Matthiesen, E.ON Climate & Renewables, will present the milestones in German offshore history in the first session on 3 April 2019 entitled “10 years of offshore wind in Germany – a retrospective on a successful history?”

In the section “Future is starting now – hidden success factors of the in-service phase” speakers such as Jean Huby, Ocean Breeze, and Sebastian Mertens, GE Renewable Energy, deal with the challenges of the operating phase. Jörg Philp, Senvion S.A., will present new concepts in the field of “Floating Wind”. Sven Utermöhlen, E.ON Climate & Renewables, and Ruud de Bruijne, Netherlands Enterprise Agency, discuss the advantages and disadvantages of tendering systems.
