From 25 to 28 February 2019, the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster will be on a delegation trip to Japan together with the Departmental Authority for Economic Affairs, Transport and Innovation of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. The purpose of the visit is the World Smart Energy Week in Tokyo, the largest renewable energy fair in Japan. Japan is planning to raise the share of renewable energies in its energy supply system. To date, solar energy has been the main focus, but onshore and offshore energy are also becoming increasingly important. In addition to the fair, the delegates will also visit the two prefectures of Fukushima and Chiba, where wind energy projects are currently being realised. The Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster signed a cooperation agreement with Fukushima Prefecture in 2018. It focuses on cooperation in the areas of wind energy and hydrogen.
