Distinguished innovations in renewable energies –

Successful energy transition unachievable without innovation - the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster intends to recognise the ingenuity of the renewable energies industry with the “German Renewables Award”. Now in its seventh year, the cluster, together with a highly acclaimed judging panel made up of leading representatives from industry and science, will bestow the award on the 26 of September 2018 in the following categories: Product Innovation of the Year, Student Thesis of the Year, Project of the Year and Lifetime Achievement. A new category is featured this time: Journalism Award.

Journalism Award – new category

The Renewable Energy Hamburg has recruited former “Stern” chief editor Klaus Liedtke as panel member for the new fifth category, the Journalism Award. The Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster hopes to recognise journalists and articles to have made an outstanding contribution to well-rounded and coherent coverage of energy transition topics. The award includes prize money of 2,000 euros.

The gala event, hosted by the indpendent TV presenter Andrea Thilo, centres around the winners of the five categories. The two musicians, beatboxer Aga Jon and rapper Redchild perform intros to the individual categories.

The Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster will bestow the German Renewables Award at the Intercity Hotel Dammtor, located right next to Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH and with a fantastic view of the City of Hamburg. The Intercity Hotel Dammtor can be reached by public transport using the S-Bahn suburban railway (S11, S21, S31) exiting at S-Bahn station Dammtor, or using the U-Bahn subway system (U1) exiting at station Stephansplatz.

The awarding of the “German Renewables Award 2018” is supported by: Get A Head AG, PWC and Taylor Wessing.

Cost: One free entrance ticket per cluster member, each additional ticket 29 euros (plus VAT); non-members 49 euros (plus VAT).
