Become a co-exhibitor at the first Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster joint stand in Fukushima! Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster at REIF fair

The Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster will take part in the REIF trade fair for renewable energy sources in Fukushima on 30 and 31 October 2019 as part of a multi-year cooperation with the energy agency Fukushima, Japan.

Following the severe earthquake in 2011, the devastating tsunami and the subsequent nuclear disaster in the nuclear power plant, the prefecture of Fukushima is a focal region for the development of renewable energy sources in Japan. Against this backdrop, the prefecture is currently planning several onshore and offshore wind farms. The Japanese central government is strongly supporting the region in its endeavours to develop a renewable energy supply. From the end of 2019 onward, hydrogen is to be produced in the prefecture of Fukushima using renewable energy sources, with which a large fleet of hydrogen-powered taxis and buses will run at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in the summer of 2020.

The Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster, together with the Ministry of Economy, Transport and Innovation (BWVI) of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, has booked an area for a joint stand at the REIF trade fair in order to present our already ongoing cooperation in the fields of wind power and hydrogen on site in Fukushima. Hamburg's Senator for Commerce, Michael Westhagemann, will visit the trade fair and the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster stand on 30 October.
