As part of the Excellence Initiative of the German federal and state governments, the University of Hamburg was awarded the contract for four excellence clusters in 2018. One of them in the Climate, Climatic Change and Society (CLICCS) area. CLICCS covers a broad range of topics: from basic research on the dynamics of the climate system and social dynamics to the transdisciplinary investigation of the interactions between humans and the environment.
