Veranstaltungsdetails

Datum: 20.05.2020 15:00 - 20.05.2020 17:00

This webinar is to show case the opportunities in Scotland to produce green hydrogen for a zero-carbon future, and the related opportunities for German companies. The recognition that green or blue hydrogen is a key element in achieving the energy transition within the parameters set forth in the Paris Accord has driven an increase of attention to this “green” gas.

Demand for a competitive price per kilo and lack of availability at industrial scale of this “new” resource were caught in a chicken-and-eggloop. Change came with the nascent industrial interestand demand which drives a growing number of projects, aimed to satisfy this need for green H2 at the required scale.

There is agreement on the fact that of the required green hydrogen in Germany about 50% has to be imported. Already companies have begun to develop projects in Scotland to take advantage of the 300GW of offshore wind potential estimated to be available in Scottish waters. This resource is of strong interest because of its vicinity to the European market and because of its significant volume. It bears new opportunities, for new ventures, projects and cooperations.

Das Event wird aus einen Key Note Vortrag von David Holman (Spezialist für Hydrogen & Carban Capture, Utilisation & Storage (CCUS) | Scottish Enterprise) sowie einer Paneldiskussion mit Paul O’Brien (Senior Development Manager | DeepWind Scotland), Bill Ireland (CEO | H2Tec), Fergus Tickell (Senior Consultant | John WOOD Group), Agnes Herdick (Senior Manager Hydrogen, Uniper) und Oliver Weinmann (Head Of Business Unit Offshore | Vattenfall) bestehen.
