Online Seminar "Wind Energy in Türkiye"
Renwable Energy Hamburg and Turkish Wind Energy Association (TWEA) cordially invite you to the online seminar "Wind Energy in Türkiye".
Turkish Wind Energy Association established by the Council of Ministers in 1992 is the largest non-governmental organization advocating wind energy in Türkiye. The joint event aims to provide an overview of the current wind energy development, regulatory frameworks, and market players in Türkiye, and to identify the potential and outlook for cooperation between companies of both sides. German and Turkish wind companies will share first-hand experiences in engaging wind market in Türkiye.
Over the past decade, Türkiye has become a leading wind market in Europe through the continuous expansion of renewable energy. In 2020, Türkiye ranked among the top five countries in Europe with €1.6n investments in wind energy, according to WindEurope. Wind power today has a 10% share of the country’s electricity generation, making it the second most important source of renewable energy. The province of Izmir is the central hub of wind energy which holds 20% of the whole national capacity.
A large domestic market, a strong demand for energy security and a good geographic location are good arguments for leading European and German wind companies, e. g. Nordex, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, TÜV NORD, and EnBW, to do large investments and projects in Türkiye.
The online seminar will be held in English.
